What is the Annual Writing Scholarship?
The Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO) and the Sacramento-based Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC) each year co-sponsor a statewide scholarship program designed to encourage students to get published.
The $1,000 Foundation for California Community Colleges/CCPRO Writing Scholarship is awarded to a community college student who writes a compelling news story, pitches the story to his/her local newspaper and gets published.
The scholarship is an effort to get students to pursue careers in journalism and to share the community college story with residents in local communities throughout the state.
